Drupalcon Barclona: The biggest Drupalcon yet

I’m sitting in the Internationalization talk (Multilingual Drupal (201 - sd)) first session here in Barcelona, Spain.

We just finished the introduction to the show, during which time it was revealed that as of this writing there are more than 425 people here at the conference, and that this was the first Drupal-specific conference that was not built around another conference. This is quite a number, and it will only grow throughout the week.

It really goes to show the meteoric rise of Drupal in the last year. While the majority of people here are from Europe (naturally, this is a European conference), there are, for the first time I’m aware of, people here from all six populated continents, including Africa, Asia, and South America; that’s a first.

I know it’s a fanboy post, and that’s not what I’m usually about, but I’m kinda proud of the community. Nice work! Go Drupal!
